I’ve always hated coffee shops.

Everyone else loves them, but to me, every shop felt the same. When I had the chance to open one, I knew I didn’t want to create just another coffee shop.

A few days later, I was in my office when Juicy by The Notorious B.I.G. came on. Before Biggie says, “It was all a dream,” you hear the unmistakable scratch of a vinyl record.

That was it.

Music has always been one of my greatest passions, and it’s something that brings people together. So I combined two things I love—great coffee and music—and Scratch was born: a place built around vinyl, conversation, and community, where the experience matters just as much as the coffee.
